L’espressione “coming out” deriva dalla frase inglese “coming out of the closet” che significa letteralmente “uscire dall’armadio”, e viene utilizzata per descrivere l’azione di dichiarare apertamente il proprio orientamento sessuale o identità di genere. L'opera gioca sulla traduzione letterale del termine sostituendo l'armadio con uno scafandro. Allo stesso modo in cui un armadio cela i vestiti, i colori che sentiamo nostri, lo scafandro cela l'identità di una persona, nascondendo quello che siamo al mondo. Con questa opera voglio sostenere tutte le persone che non hanno ancora fatto coming out e quelle che lo hanno già fatto, mostrando al mondo la propria unicità. Parte del ricavato dell'opera unica e delle stampe fine art in edizione limitata, andranno a sostenere la comunità LGBTQI+, in particolare i progetti di sostegno e sensibilizzazione promossi dall'ARCIGAY Varese.

The expression "coming out" derives from the English phrase "coming out of the closet" which literally means "going out of the closet", and is used to describe the action of openly declaring one's sexual orientation or gender identity. The work plays on the literal translation of the term by replacing the wardrobe with a diving suit. In the same way that a wardrobe conceals clothes, the colors that we feel ours, the diving suit conceals the identity of a person, hiding who we are in the world. With this work I want to support all the people who have not yet come out and those who have already done so, showing the world their uniqueness. Part of the proceeds from the unique work and the limited edition fine art prints will go to support the LGBTQI + community, in particular the support and awareness projects promoted by ARCIGAY Varese.
